The City was incorporated in 1904 with 35 residents most of whom were of Danish decent. The City boomed until the early 1920's when there were major setbacks to its growith. The Dania Hotel burned, the bank of Dania failed, there was a major hurricane in 1926.
Over the years the City of Dania Beach reinvented itself numerous times. Once the Tomato Capital of the World the city became the antique capital of the south in around 1950.
The population of the City of Dania, is about 30,000 people. The City sits just south of th Fort lauderdale-Hollywood Airport. Dania is famous for one of the largest Jai-Alai venue in the country. It is also home to the Fishing Hall of Fame.
